How to survive a bee attack : Fear about the so-called Africanized honeybees has been on the rise in recent years. But the truth is, even regular European honeybees can be dangerous and fatal to people if they attack in a swarm.

Most adults can survive 200-400 bee stings, but a swarm of bees can sting you this many times in just a few short moments. Here's what to do if you're attacked by a swarm of angry bees:

Run Like There's No Tomorrow
Bees who are attacking are defending their home territory, and the best thing you can do is get away-far, far away. The bees will continue chasing you, but the key is to run as fast as you can away from them, and to keep running until they stop chasing you. European honeybees will typically only chase you about 200 yards, but the so-called Killer Africanized Bees will chase for up to half of a mile.
